Houston rental car has windshield crushed by mysterious concrete block

For Museum District resident Jennyfer Herrington and her family members, it can be been a crushing handful of days.

Several hours after Herrington’s daughter was included in a strike-and-run crash, the pair stepped outside to obtain a cylindrical concrete block experienced smashed the windshield of the daughter’s rental car.

“It truly is been a hell of a week,” Herrington explained. “I am unhappy about it, to say the least. We are already possessing to pay back for the hit and operate, and now the rental vehicle receives destroyed and results in being undriveable.”

The mysterious incident, which brought on a stir on social media, transpired midday Wednesday in close proximity to Herrington’s townhome at the corner of La Branch and Rosewood.

Herrington explained her daughter parked the motor vehicle around 10 a.m., only to explore the harm a couple several hours later.

“It just appears to be truly strange,” Herrington said. “Definitely, somebody’s not just going for walks all-around, angry, prepared to toss a concrete block at a vehicle.”

Herrington’s spouse posted a photograph of the ruined windshield to Reddit early Thursday morning, but identified couple of solutions.

Some speculated the block fell off a construction automobile. Even if that is the case, it leaves unanswered issues about the angle the block hit the windshield at and who could be liable.

“It really is not even that my daughter has any enemies, but it is really a rental car or truck,” Herrington mentioned. “Nobody would know it is really not our individual auto or everything.”

Herrington states she’s questioned law enforcement to appear at safety digital camera footage around the location in hopes of finding what took place. As of Thursday afternoon, a formal police report has not been done.
