Councilman Robert Holden has proposed a legislation that would target auto entire body stores, auto rental companies and gas stations who use road parking for the purpose of dropping-off, finding-up, inspecting, storing, repairing, servicing or exhibiting a vehicle for sale, lease or hire.

Holden claimed the hoarding of general public parking areas by these organizations has been a dilemma in key thoroughfares and household streets in his district, which include in and all around Metropolitan Avenue in Middle Village and Maspeth.
